Chalk Wins Sage Brief
8th October 2009 - Chalk has been appointed by Sage, the business software and services specialists, to handle corporate and trade communications activity for its online payments protection division, Sage Pay.
Launched as Protx in 2001, Sage Pay is the Uk's fastest growing payments service provider, with a customer base of in excess of 25,000. The company makes the process of accepting online payments, simpler, faster and safer, having developed an almost cult like status amongst developers and online entrepreneurs.
Following the acquisition by Sage in 2008, the appointment marks a significant milestone in the growth of the business, as it capitalises on its foothold in the market. One of the agency’s first tasks is to develop existing levels of engagement with internet start-ups and the wider web development community, as it raises the bar on online payment standards and accreditation.
Chalk is the corporate communications arm of Unity Marketing Group. Founded in 2007, current retained clients include JLT Limited, 3i Infotech Western Europe, Thematic Capital Partners and most recently, Cafédirect.
“Despite the best efforts of the global economy, UK internet entrepreneurialism is alive and well, with hundreds of internet start-ups keen to grab a slice of the action,” said Adam Barber, Managing Director, Chalk.
“As a pioneer in the world of internet payments protection, Sage Pay is well placed to meet the needs of this rapidly expanding area of the economy – championing existing industry standards and developing a robust internet payments infrastructure for the future.”
